Once you register your system, the tariff levels are guaranteed for the period of the tariff and are index-linked, so nothing can change for the duration of the generation tariff. Whereas with the Export tariff, you get a further 4.5p from your energy supplier for each unit you export back to the electricity grid (kWh), so any electricity you don’t use, you can sell back to the national grid, but don’t try to use yourself!
