The Government have a scheme to regulate the price you will be paid for selling energy back to the National Grid – The Governments Feed In Tariff scheme states that you will be paid for the electricity you generate through your solar panel installation, even if you use it yourself. Not a bad idea at all, but it gets even better because you will also be paid for any excess electricity you sell back to the national grid.

Generation Tariff
Your energy supplier has to pay you a set rate for each unit (or kWh) of electricity you generate. Once your Advanced Solar PV System has been registered you will see the real benefit because the tariff levels are guaranteed for the whole period the tariff runs for and as these are all index-linked, nothing can change for the complete duration of the generation tariff.
Export Tariff
You will also receive a further 4.5p/kWh from your supplier for each unit you sell back to the national grid, so you can sell any electricity you generate but don’t use yourself, but then again, if you even get paid for generating the electricity whether you use it or not, who cares!
FIT’s
The Feed In Tariff agreements are currently running for 20 years, offering you 14p Kwh for current installations. There are many examples of this, and that is why it is essential to have a reputable company come out and look at what your individual needs are. This will help ensure that any additional energy created is exported back to the grid and a can earn a further minimum payment of 4.5p which will be paid directly to you. Add to this the savings made from not buying your energy from any power supplier and the return of investment increases dramatically.
Savings
On average an Advanced Solar PV system returns around 12% on your investment, which is completely tax free. This system could reduce your carbon emissions by up to 1.3 Tons per year.
